BXUK beach motocross 2012, Ramsgate, day 2

I shouldn't have complained about the weather the day before...because on Sunday it was much worse.  Cold, extremely dull, windy and very wet indeed.  Spectators mostly sheltered out of the rain.  Conditions for the riders were appalling.  Light was awful.  The weather was the complete opposite of the previous year, when unbroken sunshine graced both days.

Tenterden Folk Festival 2012

Again, decent bit of luck with the weather, some sun on both days.  Didn't stop long on either the Saturday or the Sunday but the standard of entertainment seemed good.  Think I was a bit morrised out by this stage of the season, having snapped morri seemingly endlessly for five months ;)

Aylesham Carnival 2012

Once again I had luck on my side as the sun appeared in time for an event, this time the carnival in Aylesham village near Canterbury.

Joss Bay Wheels & Fins Festival 2012

I only managed about an hour of each day. I missed what was probably the best event, the downhill kart race. The event timetable was a tad inaccurate, to say the least, but it was the first timer and things tend not to run on rails. The Wheels & Fins certainly shows promise. Loved the skateboarders. Mentalists, one and all ;)

Canterbury Wise Words Festival 2012

Poetry and stuff relating to words and language, apparently.  I wandered about and enjoyed the sunshine without really understanding much of what was going on ;)

Faversham Hop Festival 2012, Sunday

I made it to Faversham for the second day of the 2012 Hop Festival.  It stayed dry, which was a big achievement. There was the usual decent mix of morris dancers, singers and street entertainment.

ROMMCC bike meet 2012, Sandwich

I had a little bit of time to kill during the Sandwich Festival 10K race so went off for a wander round to the Guildhall, where I found the ROMMCC annual bike meet underway.  Would have been impolite not to have a look at the bikes and grab a few snaps ;)

Herne Bay Festival 2012

I was in Hernia Bay on the hottest day of the year.  The opening Saturday of the festival provided the one (and, I think, only!) instance of the temperature hitting 30C in what was mostly an abysmal summer of cold winds and rain.

Once again, HB put on an excellent series of free events over the course of 10 days.  Highlight for me was the manic rock band, The Eyes, who put on an amazing balls out (not literally) performance.

Hastings carnival 2012

I think the sun shone every time I went to Hastings this year.  Certainly this carnival was the best of the half dozen or so I attended during 2012.  The effort that went into many of the floats and costumes was amazing.

Maidstone Mela 2012

The sun shone and the temperature soared as the colourful Maidstone Mela celebrated its 10th anniversary with a great day of events.

VEBT Margate Masters beach volleyball 2012

Mostly cold, dismal and windy, with occasional downpours for good measure.  The VEBT beach volleyball weekend in Margate was yet another event affected by the appalling summer of 2012.  Nevertheless the sun shone once or twice too and the standard of play was generally good, though it was shocking to some spectators sitting about in heavy coats in July.

Broadstairs Folk Week 2012

After a dreadful summer, the sun mostly shone for Folk Week, though numbers appeared to be down this time round and there were certainly fewer morris sides and musicians out on the street than in previous years.  Nevertheless, those who turned out were enthusiastic, as ever.  Here are a few snaps from the week.
